On Monday November 17, 2014, the Clean Current team demonstrated the ability to deploy a river turbine in cold winter conditions. The team successfully lowered the turbine to the river bed in ambient temperatures of -15ºC (before wind chill). This is another milestone in the path to developing commercial river hydrokinetic technology for remote northern communities in Canada and in the World.
The turbine will remain deployed for the entire winter to demonstrate operation through another cold Canadian winter.
Special thanks to the team at the CHTTC as well as R.G Enterprises and their crew.
