Clean Current established early patent claims on all key proprietary design elements in countries that represent more than 2/3 of world electrical consumption

Applications of this Intellectual Property
Tidal In-Stream Energy Conversion (TISEC)
Clean Current has licensed its TISEC technology to Alstom. a large multi-national company headquartered in France (www.alstom.com). Alstom is industrializing the technology.

Clean Current Uni-directional Turbine Generator (River or Ocean Currents)
Clean Current has adapted its tidal technology to be used in rive or ocean currents. The technology will be developed first for river applications. The first product is 1.5 metre blade diameter as shown below:

Direct Drive Generator for Offshore Wind Application Clean Current’s proprietary PM generator is specifically designed for operation in hostile environments. This generator has been licensed to Alstom Power for use in the fields of tidal in stream and ocean current power generation. The Company has continued to advance this intellectual property and pursue the necessary patent protection for it worldwide. One of the key areas of interest has been the adaptation of Clean Current’s proprietary fault tolerant generator to offshore wind applications. Offshore wind generators are subject to an environment of frequent wetting in salt-air which is chemically aggressive and just as challenging as other ocean environments. In this type of environment, Clean Current’s patented generator possesses significant advantages over existing designs.
Advantages · The generator does not require a climate controlled environment. Cooling can be achieved using ambient sea-air. The segmented machine configuration dissipates heat much easier than traditional generators.
· The generator can be located outside of nacelle and use the air directly downstream of turbine blades for cooling. This concept isolates the heat produced by the generator from other sensitive electrical components. This will also allow for the option of a smaller nacelle (climate controlled room) for PC, CMS and other electrical equipment.
· The generator is designed to be fault tolerant (graceful degradation).
Scalability
The Clean Current generator can scaled to produce as much as 10 MW.

Coatings Methodology for Generators or Motors
Clean Current has developed and patented a coatings methodology to protect copper cables from salt water for use in generators or motors for submersed or flooded operation.
